On any bill detail page, click the Follow this bill button. Your follow is saved instantly.

Get Emailed

When the bill’s status changes, you receive an email with the old status, new status, state, bill number, and a direct link to the bill.

What Triggers an Alert?

An alert email is sent whenever a bill’s recorded status changes. Common status transitions include:

Introduced → In Committee
In Committee → Passed Committee
Passed Committee → Passed House/Senate
Passed House/Senate → Passed Both Chambers
Passed Both Chambers → Signed by Governor / Enacted
Any status → Vetoed or Dead/Failed

Alerts are checked hourly. You are only notified of changes that occur after you follow a bill — following a bill does not trigger a retroactive alert for its current status.

How many bills can I follow?

There is no limit. Pro, Team, and Enterprise subscribers can follow as many bills as they want across any state.

How often are alerts sent?

Our system checks for status changes every hour. When a change is detected, you receive an email within that hourly cycle. You will not receive duplicate alerts for the same status change.

Can I follow bills in multiple states?

Yes. You can follow bills in any state. There is no restriction on following bills across different states simultaneously.

Can I unfollow a bill?

Yes. Click the “Following” button on any bill detail page to unfollow it, or manage all your followed bills from your Following page. You can also unsubscribe from the link in any alert email.

Is this available on the free tier?

No. Bill follow alerts are a Pro feature. Free-tier users see a “Pro feature — Upgrade” prompt on bill detail pages. Upgrading to Pro, Team, or Enterprise unlocks bill alerts immediately.
