3. Not Legal Advice
The information provided on this Site does not constitute legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is formed by your use of this Site.
The Site provides general information about AI legislation for educational and informational purposes only. This information:
- Is not a substitute for professional legal counsel
- May not reflect the most current legal developments
- May contain AI-generated summaries that, while fact-checked, could contain errors or omissions
- Should not be relied upon for making legal, compliance, or business decisions without consulting a qualified attorney
- Does not account for your specific circumstances, jurisdiction, or industry requirements
If you need legal advice, please consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction who specializes in technology law, regulatory compliance, or the specific area of law relevant to your situation.
4. Accuracy and Limitations
We strive to provide accurate, up-to-date information about AI legislation. However:
- Legislative information is sourced from official state legislature records via multiple legislative data APIs, and may have a processing delay
- Bill summaries and analyses are generated and enhanced using artificial intelligence (GPT-4o) with automated fact-checking, but may contain inaccuracies
- Bills may be amended, withdrawn, or superseded after our last update
- Our categorization of bills as "AI-related" involves automated relevance scoring and may not capture every relevant piece of legislation
- Effective dates, compliance requirements, and enforcement details should always be verified against official sources
We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the information on this Site.
5. AI-Powered Tools — Additional Disclaimers
AI Laws by State LLC offers several AI-powered tools on AILawsByState.com including the "Am I Affected?" tool (/affected), Compliance Deadline Calendar (/calendar), Side-by-Side Bill Comparator (/compare), Penalty & Enforcement Tracker (/penalties), State Regulatory Watchlist (/watchlist), and AI Policy Cheat Sheet Generator (/cheatsheet). These tools use artificial intelligence and automated data processing to analyze published AI legislation in our database. All tools warrant the following additional and specific disclaimers:
Specific limitations of this tool:
- AI-generated analysis: Results are produced by a large language model (GPT-4o) and may contain errors, hallucinations, omissions, or misinterpretations of legislative text
- Not comprehensive: The tool only analyzes bills currently in our database. It may miss relevant legislation not yet in our database, recently amended bills, executive orders, administrative rules, municipal ordinances, or federal regulations
- Risk levels are estimates: The "High," "Medium," and "Low" risk designations are AI-generated approximations and should not be treated as definitive legal assessments of your compliance obligations
- No jurisdiction-specific analysis: The tool does not account for how courts in specific jurisdictions have interpreted or may interpret these laws, nor does it consider pending litigation or enforcement actions
- Temporal limitations: Laws may have been amended, repealed, enjoined, or superseded since our last database update. Effective dates and enforcement timelines should be independently verified
- Business-specific factors: The tool cannot account for the full complexity of your business operations, corporate structure, contractual obligations, or industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Not a compliance program: Using this tool does not constitute a compliance assessment, risk audit, or due diligence review. It is a starting point for discussion with qualified legal counsel, not an endpoint
By using any AI-powered tool on this Site, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- You will not rely solely on this tool's output for any legal, compliance, or business decisions
- You will consult a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction before taking action based on the results
- AI Laws by State LLC, its owners, operators, and affiliates bear no responsibility or liability for any actions you take or fail to take based on this tool's output
- The results do not create any warranty, guarantee, or representation regarding your legal obligations or compliance status
