The name of new laws in Nebraska (LB 525, signed April 14, 2026) and Idaho (SB 1297, signed March 31, 2026), both operative July 1, 2027. Nebraska's requires AI disclosure to anyone who could be misled, disclosure to minors at each session and at least every three hours, limits on sexual content for minors and a suicide and self-harm referral protocol. Idaho's requires a crisis-referral protocol, with penalties of $1,000 per violation up to $500,000 per operator.
